Respira Visit (Ketibandar)

The Respira team visited the Keti Bandar area of DBC-1 project area. Enroute they had a stopover at Mangrove Nursery near Keti Bandar. The CCF briefed the team that our mass planting is done by direct planting of propagules. However, we raise nursery plants for beating of failures and doing planting work at difficult sites where nursery planting stock is needed.

Then using a boat the team visited different planting sites where the plantation of different mangrove species has been raised. The team was impressed with the success and scale of the plantation work carried out.
At the walkway site, Ms. Anna gave an interview about the role of carbon markets in mobilizing carbon finance for implementing projects like DBC-1 so as to realize climate benefits, community development, and biodiversity conservation benefits at the needed scale.
In the last leg of the tour, the team interviewed the female folks who have been involved in implementing various project activities and the positive impacts these project interventions have had on their livelihoods, environment, and overall well-being.
