Training on Home-Based Kitchen Gardening
In the remote coastal communities of the Indus Delta, many families struggle to access fresh, nutritious vegetables due to limited availability, seasonal incomes, and a heavy reliance on local markets. Recognizing that home-based food production could strengthen household nutrition and resilience, Delta Blue Carbon introduced a *Home-Based Kitchen Gardening* initiative to empower women with practical, sustainable growing techniques.
As part of this effort, Delta Blue Carbon organized a training session on *Home-Based Kitchen Gardening* in the DBC-1 Project area on 20 June 2026, led by an expert trainer from the Food and Agriculture Organization. A total of 81 women received hands-on training in vegetable production, organic composting, seed sowing, and kitchen garden management. Seasonal vegetable seeds were distributed to all participants, enabling them to establish home gardens and improve household nutrition, food security, and climate resilience.
“Empowering women with sustainable skills today is cultivating healthier families and more resilient communities for tomorrow.”
