Training and Awareness Session on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and Reusable Pad Making

Delta Blue Carbon organized a Training and Awareness Session on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and Reusable Pad Making on 28 June 2026 in the DBC-1 Project area, reaching more than 95 women and girls from the communities of Muhammad Ishaq Sarwan, Keti Bandar(base-camp), and Saleh Muhammad Baloch. The initiative was designed to strengthen menstrual health awareness while equipping participants with practical skills to produce affordable, reusable sanitary pads.

The training combined menstrual hygiene education with hands-on pad-making sessions, enabling participants to better understand safe menstrual health practices while learning to produce reusable sanitary pads. The curriculum was delivered in line with the guidance and technical recommendations of WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, and UNESCO, as well as internationally recognized Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) standards, promoting reusable cloth menstrual pads as a safe, sustainable, and dignified menstrual hygiene solution. Each participant also received a pad-making material kit to continue making reusable pads at home, promoting long-term self-reliance, affordability, and improved menstrual hygiene management.

The initiative strengthens menstrual health awareness, empowers women and girls with practical life skills, and promotes the use of affordable, reusable menstrual products. Through continued awareness and capacity-building initiatives, Delta Blue Carbon remains committed to improving the health, dignity, and well-being of women and girls across the coastal communities of the Indus Delta.
