The raptors recorded in the DBC-1 project area represent some of the most conservation-significant birds in the entire dataset of the 13 raptor species documented, two are globally Endangered, One Vulnerable, and one Near-Threatened. The mangrove forests, sandy beaches, and open coastal plains collectively serve as hunting grounds, wintering refuges, and passage stopover sites for these apex predators, many of which travel thousands of kilometres to reach the Indus Delta each winter.
