LoU with Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education

In a landmark step toward structured, government-backed education for the coastal communities of Sindh, Delta Blue Carbon formalised a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education (DLNFE), Government of Sindh, at an official signing ceremony held at the PNSC Building, Directorate Office, Karachi. This agreement marks a defining moment in DBC-1’s commitment to expanding access to quality education for out-of-school children across its project zones.

Under the terms of the LoU, DLNFE Sindh will provide strategic guidance, policy alignment, and coordination support — anchoring DBC’s efforts within the national education framework — while DBC-1 will lead program design, implementation, facilitator training, and resource mobilisation, fully aligned with the NFE curriculum and standards set by the Government of Sindh. Together, the two institutions bring complementary strengths to a shared purpose: ensuring that no child in the Indus Delta is left without a pathway to learning.

The agreement is more than a formality. It is a signal to communities — to parents, to village elders, to the children themselves — that the education being offered through DBC-1’s NFE Centres carries institutional credibility, national standards, and long-term commitment. Community trust, active parental participation, and local ownership are not incidental to this program; they are the very foundation upon which it is built.

“Together with the Government of Sindh , Delta Blue Carbon continues to work toward a future where education is not defined by geography or circumstance, but recognized as a right accessible to every child”
