Eye Care Camp

Blindness and preventable vision impairment remain significant challenges in many rural communities, where limited access to healthcare services and a lack of awareness often leave common eye conditions undiagnosed and untreated. Recognizing this need, Delta Blue Carbon (DBC) identified eye health as an important community wellbeing issue and took the initiative to bring essential eye care services directly to underserved coastal populations.

To address this challenge, Delta Blue Carbon organized a free *Eye Care Camp* in the DBC-1 Project area on 31 March 2026, in collaboration with Hashmanis Group of Hospitals. More than 350 community members received professional eye screenings, with conditions including pterygium, cataract, and retinal detachment identified and assessed. Approximately 260 patients were provided with corrective spectacles, while free medicines were distributed to those requiring treatment, ensuring that quality eye care reached people who would otherwise have limited access to these essential services.

“By bringing essential eye care services closer to remote communities, this initiative supports healthier lives, improved opportunities, and stronger community wellbeing for the future.”
