Training on Climate-Resilient Aquaculture Practices

Delta Blue Carbon, in collaboration with the Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department, organized a three-day Training on Climate-Resilient Aquaculture Practices from 21 to 23 May 2026 in the DBC-1 Project area. The initiative equipped More then 70 community members with the knowledge and practical skills needed to adopt sustainable, climate-smart aquaculture practices that strengthen livelihoods while promoting the responsible use of aquatic resources.

The training was delivered by technical experts from the Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department, covering key topics including climate-smart aquaculture, sustainable pond management, water quality management, species selection, disease prevention, and best management practices. Through interactive technical sessions, participants gained practical knowledge to improve aquaculture productivity, enhance resilience to climate change, and adopt environmentally sustainable farming methods that support the long-term health of the Indus Delta’s aquatic ecosystems.

The initiative strengthens the capacity of coastal communities to adopt climate-resilient aquaculture practices, improve livelihood security, and promote the sustainable management of aquatic resources. Through continued partnerships and capacity-building initiatives, Delta Blue Carbon remains committed to empowering communities with practical solutions that support both economic resilience and biodiversity conservation across the Indus Delta.

Every sustainable aquaculture practice adopted today strengthens food security, protects biodiversity, and contributes to a more resilient and prosperous future for the coastal communities of the Indus Delta.
