NFE Facilitator Training

A four-day Non-Formal Education (NFE) Facilitator Training & Orientation Program (Package A) was held at DBC House, in collaboration with the Directorate of Literacy & Non-Formal Education (DLNFE), Government of Sindh.

The training was led by DLNFE’s Master Trainer and Academic Coordinator. It was supported by DLNFE’s official textbooks, teaching guidelines, and training manuals, which form the backbone of the curriculum. DLNFE also provides digital curriculum content and teacher-training manuals to ensure consistent and effective implementation.

The training equipped seven NFE facilitators from the Delta Blue Carbon with the skills to deliver Package A—an accelerated, primary-level foundation package for out-of-school children (OOSC) aged 9–16, especially those who are learning to read and count for the very first time. The sessions focused on teaching methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning, playful learning techniques, and effective curriculum delivery within the package timeline.

Each facilitator was selected from within their own community, ensuring that language, culture, and trust remain at the heart of every classroom—and demonstrating that education, like conservation, is most powerful when it begins at home.

” The program has generated strong community interest—children are happy and engaged, and increasing numbers of learners from across the Indus Delta are now coming forward to enroll.”
