Kitchen gardening is perfect hobby for those who love gardening and want to enjoy healthy life also. Its benefits among others include healthy lifestyle (plants have a calming influence on both body and mind), saves money, fights off food insecurity, gives access to nutritious, fresh and healthy herbs and vegetables, besides contributing to sustainable living.
Therefore, planting one’s own vegetable and herb garden is a good activity for both men and women. Accordingly, training sessions were organized for project zone community members at Bhanbhore, Keti Bandar and Shah Bandar Areas. Training participants were shown how to lay out a kitchen garden, proper season for planting different types of herbs and vegetable, methods of sowing and planting, irrigation, manuring, after-care, harvesting, and post-harvest storage.
Training participants greatly appreciated this positive lifestyle activity.
